Cartagena LNG terminal
About the project
Sociedad Portuaria El Cayao S.A. (SPEC LNG) developed, constructed and operates a LNG port terminal in Cartagena de Indias, on the Atlantic coast of Colombia. The project, which is the first of its kind in Colombia, will strengthen the Colombian energy system and ensure supply of gas for the tree major power plants in the northern coast of Colombia. The terminal is available from December, 2016.

- A maritime pier of 700 meters long;
- A Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU);
- A 10 km natural gas pipeline connected to a National Gas Grid.
KN role in the project
KN was awarded a contract to serve as the consultant in the project providing SPEC LNG consultancy services regarding technical conditions on port and terminal operations, risk and safety management, as well as trainings for key specialists and support during the terminal commissioning.
